What's Your Gas Mileage?

Being a relative newbie, I'm not sure if this has been addressed before. But, if you're inclined, let's hear what your gas mileage is. It might be interesting to characterize as I've done below for myself:

Avg MPG: 18.1
Transmission: Manual
% Highway mileage: 90%
Driving style:* Relaxed

* Aggressive, Sporting, or Relaxed

Avg MPG 20.1
Transmission: Manual
% Highway mileage: 5%
Driving style: Relaxed

Trip 1 showing daily mpg usually gets to 22.5 MPG although I have had to up to 24.3 over a 7 miles trip through english country lanes. Usually get stuck behind someone, and there aren't many / any straights on my daily commute home. So can sometimes only get up to a max speed of 45mph.

Trip 2, mpg since last fill up is currently 20.1

YES, its been done before. You have to be very careful to distinguish between Miles/US Gallon and Miles/Imperial Gallon, or the info is garbage. I'm too lazy to search the thread, but it is definitely there.

And come to think about it, now we have to make sure we distinguish V8 from V10, spyder from coupe, etc, etc.

IMHO, not worth the ink on the page. No one buys these cars because they are concerned with saving fuel.

Anyway, I believe I "won" the economy race last time, with 12 usmpg avg over several thousand miles being the LOWEST posted! Yes, we do have fun with these cars!

Seriously ... anyone? If yes, why did you buy an R8 and not a Prius?

the "mpg is not a worthy topic for the r8" line feels a bit like preening to me.

mpg is a useful metric to see if something is wrong - and it has a direct impact on range, and hence convenience and that is a factor for some of us, no matter what the car.

I'll take a reading tomorrow to see what it's running at.

I have a V8, and it's not bad at all.

Certainly not as low as some people I know with big honking SUVs.

i expect it to be bad so i don't pay attention. hek i don't even pay attention to my audi q5. but i guess it's good to know
