R8 GT Oil Service

I had a quote this week from my local dealer for an oil service, car is 11 months old and has 1600 miles on the clock ( the service warning has just flagged up).

I have been quoted £728 inc vat, apparently the GT uses special oil ( sounds like BS to me) and the dealer has to get the oil in specially, quoted cost of the oil is £378!

On other realitively local has quoted £525 which sounds more reasonable.

Does anyone know if the GT oil is anything other than the normal fully synth R8 oil?

jh001ace, perhaps in the UK, Audi doesn't include the first oil service, at 5000 miles, or first year, like they do in the USA?

Anyhow, I believe the engines in the V10 and GT are basically the same, so they should be using 5-40 synthetic. I checked to make sure, and confirmed that my dealer put in Castrol 5-40 synthetic.
That oil is available anywhere, so you may be getting a run around.

£728 doesn't sound bad for an Oil Service, my local quote me £934 for the stock R8 V8. Looks like I need to shop around.

People on here have said buy your own oil and take it to Audi when they service it. Not needed to do that yet and not sure what looks I'd get if I did.

I'm curious, does Audi UK offer "Audi Care"? I bought my R8 used and it still has two years of full regularly scheduled maintenance included. Maybe that is just a North American thing?

I assume that it's that much because it includes other element. Oil service, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, dust and pollen filter, spark plugs.

I'm having a Inspection service next month that will cost £163 after the car informed me it was due, which doesn't include any parts, purely just an inspection. Told them to do the minimum required to get a stamp in the book. Not sure if that's a decent price or not. Cars currently at 35,000 miles.
