Delivery date in US?

I've been told by my dealer & Audi rep to expect my R8 within the first ten days of Sept.
Has anyone else gotten a date for their R8 yet?

I've been told by my local Audi rep that they will never get an R8 and I've been told by an Audi rep in Orange County that my number 14 position in line for the R8 will insure that I recieve one never... sad story...

I'm glad that I've been told by my Mercedes dealer to expect my CLK63 Black Series by the first few days of Sept. Gotta love mercedes... gotta hate Audi at the moment!

(P.S. my CLK turned out to be the exact same price as a fully loaded R8 without mark-up would've been... =[

Yes, build date is Sept 30 with delivery available in Europe Oct 15 for European pickup which I was planning, but needed it by end of Sept--so no Euro deliverey. Thus wuith shiping to US, I am told expect between Dec 1-15.

My R8 is on a boat and will be in Houston on September 13th (yes 2007). I am told that Audi may leave all R8s at the port (OUTDOORS) until they can coordinate a nationwide delivery date. Sounds like a poorly orchestrated publicity stunt. Hope it doesn't hail/typhoon (rain).

Meanwhile, my trade, an 06 Gallardo, is being taken away to it's new home today. Anybody got a 360 I can borrow for a couple months?

I am trying to find out where this might have been stated by Audi as opposed to the popular press. This certainly would make a difference in retail value. I was also told that by purchasing one of the first R-8s I would have first chance to purchase new model R-8s. Has anyone heard this?

Got word this morning.... my R8 is in port down in Houston.
They will have a minor delay... that there is a software update to download prior to shipping north.
My blood is running fast and hot!!!

I also heard 300... and I am on the list for the 1st V-10's... ditto for the convert.
The date I was quoted as Sept 8th is I am sure a little +/- but I was told by a Audi rep that the first deliveries are coming as one R to a truck, already prepped, with special 'hoopla' when it arrives at the dealership.

I will assume that since I've owned an 07 S6 then upped it to the S8 and recently added a Q7 to the stable... that I may have some influence somewhere.

I've had a series of exotic MB's and BMW's and the Audi has become my brand of choice. If I had to wait a long period of time for an R8 it would be in the S8...RS's or even the slower TT... The wait would be unfortunate but more than tolerable driving an Audi.

My car just got to the Miami port Thursday!!!!! I will be driving it in about a week and a half!!!!! The Collection Miami.

Got my delivery date and it still stands as Sept 8th... but now I have the VIN number + spec sheet which says black w/ carbon side blades?! From what I've heard there was to be no carbon sb's for the US R8's this year... so its a wait to see if what I read is what I get.
Anyone else receive a firm delivery date or VIN#?
