    Difference in carbon fiber inlays?

I have been looking at various used R8's on ebay and have observed that some interior carbon fiber inlay even includes the dash surround of the navigation screen. Also, I assume that some older models have the silver trim around the nav, while some have black trim?

I'm not aware of the nav surround in carbon being an option. I can only imagine it's been added to the car later only the owner as they are available to purchase seperately.

    I see. That makes sense.

    Further research yields:

Looks like there are many other options for the carbon fiber trims....

I have done a lot of research on this and the two best companies are McCarbon and DCT. Both get flawless reviews and they sell on eBay or direct. Both make carbon fiber steering wheels that are out of this world quality wise. In fact their steering wheel is a huge upgrade on the stock wheel with various thickness options

McCarbon makes all the internal parts you could possible want including center console and engine bay parts.

So, after looking at the McCarbon site, this leads to the question of how much carbon fiber is enough.

I'm thinking to go with the standard Audi internal package (kneewell and door handles). Then I would get the aftermaket steering wheel. After that you could go with the center console, emergency brake handle or even the nav surround. But when does it become too much?

    This has been discussed recently.
Need opinion on interior and carbon fiber

    and examples of carbon upgrades
gorgeous interior mods with lots of carbon fiber and suede leather

As I have said before, keep clear of too much carbon, can look way too busy, the options you've stated sound fine though. Design it go you, that's what's most important.

I like to sprinkle carbon throughout the interior. When everything is carbon it all blends together, it's nice to have the contrast of carbon, leather and silver. I good way to go, is replacing to cheap looking black plastics with carbon.
