I just picked up a 2012 V10. I want to remove the licence plate mount and wanted to know where to start. Is it attached by any type of fastners and if so, how can they be accessed?
Thanks,
Stu (in NJ)

Don't know the difference from a 2008 V8, but for mine it took a complete grill replacement.
I've searched the forums and all I could find is guys that wanted to ADD a license equipped grill but I want to REMOVE the licence plate functionality of mine. It seems as though there are clips that hold part of the assembly to the grill itself - and I was curious to find out if it's a two piece assy where the mount could be detached without a full grill replacement.
The front bumper and panels underneath need to come off. Unlike some Audi's the entire grill needs to be replaced. it's a do it your self project but there are about a million fasteners to keep track of . If you need help or photos of how to do it let me know
you need an entire new front grille if you don't want the bracket...
Well - crap.
If you guys have a step-by-step thats been published, I'd really appreciate it.... I hate when you get to the point where you think you have everything - but those last two fastners hold up the whole process. Thats always when "the scratch" usually happens. This car has 300 miles on the odo - and I'd hate to start off by screwing up.
Thanks.
