    Front License Plate Options

I found this removable front plate option online. Although the website shows application only for Ferraris, the owner (Bob) custom made one for the R8 that fits perfectly. It is extremely easy to install and remove in just seconds and stays secure at highway speeds. Ran me $195 shipped.

Very interesting. So really no problems driving at high speed and no scratches on the grill? I'll have to take a look into this. I live close by in VA where cops will stop you every chance they have.

MD cops are also big fans of giving tickets for driving without a front plate. No issues with high speed or scratches so far. The gap between the grill and plate (see pic #3 above) is about 1.5 inches, so plenty of clearance there as well.

Can you place it higher on the grill or does it block air flow? Also Can you post a shot of the whole front end to get a better idea. Nice ride by the way.

Nice that it needs no tools but I don't think it looks good sticking that far out from bumper. In the past 12 years I have only been stopped once for no front plate and only given a warning, but think things are going to change this year in MA. We have people here with older green plates that only require one plate but state has been trying to get rid of them for years and I heard starting this year you might not be able to get an inspection sticker if you have those old green plates. I am either just going to trade out mine for one with holder but will probably give this one a shot first, http://www.skenedesign.com/FPBracket/index.shtml

Only holes that need to drilled is 2 very small ones under the bumper face. Someone here posted they got one and it worked well but never posted pictures. Figure for $49 worth giving it a try
