Yeah, these wheels look fantastic. They are very similar to stock design but BIGGER! I would definately buy if they are the same weight or lighter than stock. Nice looking wheel.

great post. i love the wheels, though probably on 19's. Ive seen these wheels on other cars and thought they may suit the r8 perfect. and they do !!
Are those yours?? do u have the prices? and more importantly, weight??
thanks for sharing !
yep theyre cool, remind me of the original Gallardo wheels.
They are lighter. The fronts weigh 25 lbs and the rear are 28 lbs.
The stock wheels are 30.5 lbs for the fronts only. I don't have a weight on the rears.
That is a significant weight savings.
I got them from sdswheels.com. Talk to Liam. Tell him I sent you.
The MSRP price for the set of wheels was something like $7,000, but Liam would be able to tell you better.

I take it, then, that the factory wheels are cast instead of forged?
I wonder why Audi would take such weight-saving steps as an aluminum frame and body and then put cast instead of forged wheels on this car? They are certainly charging enough to include forged wheels in the package, and that could easily save 30-40 pounds of weight -- and unsprung weight, at that.
(I know a couple of sources have said the factory 19" wheels are forged. But the Audi website says they are cast, and the weights GR8 Ghost gives certainly indicate cast wheels.)
good point - this car is overweight in all departments though not just the wheels. Maybe if they lost a hundred pounds or more it would have embarrassed the gallardo completely?
I agree. I think Company Politics had a lot to do with it. IMO Audi had a lot of help from Lamborghini when designing/producing the R8. Therefore, I think part of the deal was if Lambo helps, Audi has to respect the Lambo product line and it's superiority. Fair enough.
