Lambo Style doors

I'm wondering if any have ventured into a vertical opening door conversion.
If so any info would be great.
Besides the great look it would certainly solve my narrow garage door opening challenge. Seems a logical topic for extra long length doors such as on the R8.

Best not to try it, only scissor doors that come standard work fine, conversions don't.

Davey_ Dee, I was hoping since the Gallaro and the R8 share basically the same chassis that the door mechanisms would be similar mounting positions and therefore easy to convert.
Are you talking from experience or gut feel.

The Gallardo doesn't have scissor doors, but no i'm just saying what i've read. Apparently the hinge those doors need are hard to convert to.

They'd look good on the R8, but I wouldn't wanna be the first person to try it.

I may be the first to actually try the Hinge kit. Been thinking about this since my first post on it many moons ago. It makes perfect sense on the R8,and most hinge kits allow original method of closure as well as scizzor up. Will put Lambo hinges on Hummers' four doors soon too.

Admire the can do approach..if you tried Harrison it would be a world first on a R8

And if it went wrong it would be the world's first scissor door on R8 **** up

The WORST thing that could go wrong would be if you crashed and the door could'nt be opened and you burn to death...Not the best way to go. I've heard the reason the Gallardo dioesnt have the scizzor doors is the weight savings. Gallardos had long been considered more of a race car than the Murcielago with its Lifting doors. Piece OUT !!
