I never got them to work...at least the ones from OEM plus. I never heard back if they found ones that DID work correctly.
Rich?

I've bought a pair of white LED from a shop in Germany and they work fine.

It's important to buy them with a built in resistor. Otherwise they wouldn't work.
Has anyone managed to change the bulb of the luggage bay to LED. I've tried 3 different types and they all didn't work
Harald
Hum....I wonder why the sets I tried a while back from OEM Plus didn't work then....since they were supposed to have the resistor in them.
I am OK with the yellowish light now, so don't really want to mess with them again....unless Rich is here in Portland again one day and wants to give them a try!

I could do it on the way to meet Harry, if that works for him, and for Rich, on June 7th.
Harry and I have temporary plans to meet around his place in the late AM or early PM. Maybe I could visit Rich either before or after and we could try the lights then!
What do you say Rich....Harry???? OEMPlus is right off I 5, or at least close, correct, and so is Harry???
We can see if this works out. Thanks for the suggestion Steve M!

Anything is possible. When we get closer to D day (Canyon blasting), We may have a group of R8s meeting together. Unless Rich comes up with a fast ride I think he is out of the way. You can leave the lights with me and I can get them fixed for you. Let's hope to spend at least one morning/afternoon as an R8 GTG. RSMR8? Desparado? R84ME? SDR8? Any others?? This will be the Prelude to your Alps trip (which I am unsure of as yet). You might enjoy yourself in sunny So. Cal. (My mini Alps). \"/ Burger run thrown in of course. ALL burgers and beers on me.

Thanks Harry. Hopefully Rich can chime in here. I don't "have to have 'em" for the LED license plate lights. It was just funny that I could never get them working! I forgot, Rich has an R8 now....so maybe a bunch of us can meet and do a run in the canyon and grab lunch as you suggest!
Let's talk about it soon...since I need to hit the road north in the PM of June 7th. I've got to back in Portland late on the 8th!
I fly out early on the 17th for my London visit and then the Alps!
Getting ready will be interesting. I need to stuff a month's worth of things in 2 carry-on bags. They also need to fit in Ian's R8....how about if we rent a hitch Ian and drag a cart along with us????

ok, so the consensus is that no one in NA have LED's for the rear plates yet?
I would buy from that European site, but i don't understand it.
