Best method for blacking out chrome grill ring?

I've seen a lot of blacked out chrome grill rings but have also seen them chip and de-laminate over time as well. I was curious what experience folks have had with different approach... what works. What didn't. Not too many paint shops I talk to seem eager to take it on.

    Thanks!

The best way to get the grill ring cleaned up is to have the chrome trim chemically stripped off, then prep and paint like normal plastic.

We do this regularly for our customers here and have one ring in stock...

I had Rich, at OEMplus, paint my grill ring and Quat badge over a year ago and they are holding up well (and I do drive the car, 10K miles in 1 yr). I have been very happy with the result. Looks great.

Hi Rich, Do you sell the blacked out one and take the old one as a core? Mind PM'ing me on details?

I think my car will be much faster with this blacked out.

    Thanks!
