I got the Macarbon Paddles installed today and it really completes the look with the PPI extra thick carbon fiber steering wheel. I find myself using the paddles even more now that my fingers can find them. Let me know what you think

I think you now need a set of carbon-X driving shoes, as they'll match the steering wheel better than those sneakers.![]()

It was great meeting you yesterday, Z. I'm glad you like the paddles, and I must say that you have a very clean R8. See you soon!
Carefull your knees don't hit the extentions when entering or exiting your car !! Those paddles look a little large.

We designed these paddles to be ergonomic and cohesive the the design of the R8 and I think they turned out perfect. The paddles really aren't that big. The paddles extend about 2 1/2 inches (65mm) up from the original paddles and 2 3/4 (70mm) down.
Bought the same PPI wheel/less paddles and will have it in two days. Did you install wheel yourself? Was told by PPI they don't send any directions since they recommend you bring to dealer. Anybody have directions on how to remove stock wheel? TIA
Also if anybody is looking for a PPI Wheel they have a couple manual models in stock in the U.S and gave me a decent deal
Simple procedure. It requires two drivers and you'll remove three fasteners.
Feel on the back of the wheel near 3 and 9 o'clock. There are two small covers that pop out. Under them are Torx head cap screws. Unscrew the two bolts (they will stay in the wheel, so don't expect them to come out) on the back of the steering wheel. I believe Torx #27 - but don't hold me to that. This releases the air bag.
- side thought: they may be 8 mm head bolts. I've had too many tools in my car recently.
Pull the air bag out of the center of the wheel and unplug it.
You need a funky 12 point allen like driver (I think it's 10 mm, but may be 12 mm) to remove the main bolt that holds the wheel on. It's a socket headed bolt. I ended up using a 12 point bolt that I happened to have and welded it to a 3/8 drive socket.
Unscrew the nut, the wheel will come right off.
Align the plug between the new wheel and the ring on the steering column, push the wheel on, put the bolt back in and put the air bag back on - don't forget to plug it in.
It's very simple to do if you have that one driver for the steering wheel.
I'd be glad to send you my driver if you'd like. USPS priority mail would get it there on Thursday or Friday.

Thanks KfabR8, Sounds pretty similar to what I had to do when I changed wheel on my RS4, With that I think it was a Torx #50 or #55 for center bolt. Is that driver something they sell at hardware/auto store? Hope to see you get on the road soon, In the mean time I'm going to add as much CF as possible to try and keep up with you![]()
