    Oxygen Silver Engine Vents

I have seen the nice carbon fibre engine vents but they are not quite right for my car. Does anyone know if you can get hold of silver vents?

I have Oxygen Silver sideblades and ideally want the to match that. I have seen some Optic Silver vents on the V10 in some pictures but finding it hard to pin down the facts.

Any ideas welcome as I think the basic black ones are a bit of a let down and carbon fibre is not the answer in my case so hoping to find some options.

    Thanks

Howdy and welcome to the wonderful world of R8talk.com.

You can probably go order them directly from your local Audi dealership. If it's OEM equipment, then that's probably the easiest way to get your hands on a set. I believe that I know of the pic your talking about - blue V10, right?

If you're even remotely handy with tools, you can probably do the change over yourself.

Looking at the avatar, I'd have to say that the silver vents on your color scheme would look pretty darn good.

Thanks for the info, I am based in the UK.

I see both Aluminium Vents and also mirror housing on the Europrice site. The mirrors have a choice of Aluminium finishes but the vents dont, do they match and if so which finish in mirrors matches the vents.

I think I am probably going to have to see them in the flesh and also next to the sideblades to be sure which makes it a little challenging to source them from the US I think.

I can ship directly in Europe, so not a problem to supply to you quickly. The aluminum mirrors are also the factory mirrors used on the TTS and TTRS, so if you happen to see one that is the finish you would be getting. These are listed with a color code that states aluminum.

The engine vents are an aluminum matte and do carry a different color code, but to my eye they are close, but maybe the mirrors are a bit "brighter". Maybe other eyes are better than mine:

Are the engine vents hard to install.

Well, you need to remove the center lower trim on the rear lid, then the two side trims on the lid and then you have access to several bolts that you remove for each side vent. There is also an adjuster you use to level out the trim once installed so it sits flush with the lid. Not terrible at all it looks like.
