    DIY V10 front bumper convertion

    Hi Guys

This weekend me and Danko (also a member on this forum) converted the bumper on my V8 to the V10 style. This involved changing the center grill and also the side fins / grills. The whole job took about 3 hours and involved jacking up the car on both sides and removing the whole front bumper. Once the bumper was off the convertion was quite straight forward, a glue gun was needed tho to ensure the side parts remained in place.
I have attached some pictures. Credit goes to Dan who was the brains behind this.

Congrats on a job well done.

It's not that hard to do either end, just lots and lots of fasteners that must go back in the same hole they came out of.

    The results look good.

Nice one Mark (Y) Your welcome it was a pleasure doing the conversion, If your up for the rear end we can always tackle it haha

But like Kfab mention, its all about lining back up the bumper before the fasteners go back in, Once its perfectly lined up, the rest if pretty simple

You do good work. Unfortunately, now you have a big, obnoxious chromed out V10 grill! The sleek looking black V8 grill looks a million times better. I would pay big money to change from a chrome V10 grill into the beautiful, subtle black V8 grill. Just cuz a V10 cost more, doesn't mean the grill looks good. The shape and design of the car are what makes the important statement,.. NOT the overwhelming big chrome grill. Wish Audi would learn this. Just my opinion.
Again,.. you did a nice job. But black grills rule!!!

Well, what I'm most impressed with is the entire front end of the car up on two of the OEM jacks.
Man, I would NOT stick MY head into those wheel wells or under that bumper to remove and install the fasteners. EEEK!

Just the one side was held up by a jack the other was hold by a proper support. It can support up to 3 tones. Now i realise why I was the one who did most of the work under the car, i think dans trying to kill me lol..

The 3 tonne jackets and OEM jacks works fine But of course if it was to be left along time then putting the extra jack would be perfect, but tools was limited >_<

V10 grill look 100X better imo, a lot more classier and sporty
