For anyone who changed their front grill, do you remember how long it took? Dealer estimates it 5 hours so naturally wanted t oget feedback on this. t.y. in advance

No chance dude. ive done it myself took us 3 hours but a dealer should do it in half the time. I would say 2 hours is realistic, 5 is way overestimating it.

Wow, thanks for the info. Guess why they're called "stealerships" huh. Any special tools btw, and can one person do it?

No special tools are needed, just standard socket wrenches, screw drivers etc. I posted a thread about it when I did it:

Should take 2 - 3 hours if you've never done it.

Remove front wheels, remove the 8,342 fasteners (and make sure you place them on a bench in the same position that they came out, as some are specific to certain locations) and pull the front end off.

Grill's held in from the back side with a few self tapping Phillips head screws.

F.Y.I. Dealers charge "book time" for any work done, regardless the fact that they do it in half the time, or in some cases.. even less!

So can the bumper removal/install, in order to replace the grill, be performed by a one person or is two required?

Thumbs up Re: Changing front grill DIY time

If trying to do this by yourself, and alone, make sure you have a thick blanket to catch the bumper on when it FALLS. A few of us have done it alone...I think...I did.
