    Disabling sidemarker lighting

Does anybody know a way to disable the sidemarkers on US vehicles? Perhaps with vag-com? Or could the electrical cable be disconnected without having a code thrown?

The simplest way would be to put vinyl film ("wrap") of your color choice over the marker lenses. Second would be to paint the bulbs black.

The bulbs themselves though are sealed in the reflector, doesn't seem like it can be accessed. And the reflector itself is actually already body colored, but the light actually bleeds through the paint. I guess black vinyl film would be the best way to go, but I wonder if it would bleed through that as well.

You can also replace the front and back bumpers with the euro ones (without the side markers). OEMplus and Europrice should be able to help you with this.

If I had to do it all over again I probably would have just gotten the euro bumper, but what's done is done.

Though, what would happen with the side markers on a euro bumper? Would they just be duct taped inside somewhere on the bumper wall, or disconnected entirely? Wouldn't the disconnection throw a code bulb out code?

Vinyl wrap them, light should not bleed
