    Another Caliper Color Poll

I think my satin black wheels are great but together with the black calipers, black paint, and black interior, it's getting a bit too sinister looking so I'm warming the car up with a little color. I added carpet mats trimmed in red since there is already some red in every R8 interior regardless of leather color, and I have a new black suede steering wheel with red stitching on order so the natural choice for caliper color would be red, right? That's what my wife thinks but I've always liked yellow. Hence, the poll. What do you think I should do with the calipers? I've got it set up to be done next week and all I need to do is finalize the color. Thanks for your help.

To most long time sportscar people, yellow painted calipers look like someone who is trying to make their car look like they have super expensive carbon-ceramic brakes, but does not.

You have NOTHING yellow on your car? So why yellow?

I am totally unaware of the connection between caliper color and carbon-ceramic brakes. Ferrari offers red, yellow, black or silver calipers and if I'm not mistaken, carbon-ceramic brakes are standard on the 458; the Bentley SuperSports & the Aston-Martin DBS offer carbon-ceramic brakes and I don't believe either of them offer yellow calipers, though I'm not certain about that. I don't believe that Porsche offers yellow calipers with their ceramic brakes. I just think that red is very commonplace and have always thought that yellow looks great with dark wheels. Am I the only one here who doesn't know about this association between caliper color and disc composition?

    Alright Hijacker..... J/K .

Only because you have the red trim "theme" going, I'm gonna have to say red.
Although.... I wouldn't mind seeing yellow either!
Mind sharing what you were quoted for the painting of your calipers? (PM if you'd like).

On another note, who did your floor mats, and are you happy with the quality?

    I voted red as well.
IIRC, on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, the calipers are red. The Cayenne Turbo S has yellow calipers. I think this is the same for the 911 Turbo (red) and the 911 Turbo S (yellow).
I wasn't aware of a relationship between yellow calipers and ceramic brakes either.

I think Porsche was one of the first if not the first to offer a ceramic break option on a production car, at the time that option came with yellow calipers if I'm not mistaken. So your association might be from that.

I agree though, red looks better

Silver would go nicely with your car, IMHO.

Agree with comments that yellow might look out of place. Silver or red would look best.
    BTW, Nice car!!!
