    Aftermarket Seat Options

I've found out that Tecnocraft makes a nice carbon fiber racing seat for the Gallardo which fits the R8. Does anyone own these seats and if so, are they comfortable? And, what are my other choices in terms of aftermarket seats?

They look pretty nice. But I would suspect ingress/egress will be a bit of an issue for some given those relatively high side-bolsters. If my car spent a significant amount of time at the track, I'd look into doing something like this too. Nice find.

But, how about these seats for a daily driver? I don't track my car but have been told that seats like these are very comfortable. Are they comfortable enough to sit in for a few hours at a time, though?

While they might look "ok", they look seriously UN-comfortable. Purpose built for shedding the weight of the seat, power adjustment motors, airbags, etc. Good for 30-60 minutes @ the track, but not for driving of any distance.

Hence, the reason I am asking if owners of these or similar seats can verify that that's the case or if, contrary to appearance, they are actually comfortable as I've been told by some people.

Comfort would really depend on your dimensions and your "compatibility" with the seat... you must try before you buy and hopefully in a driving car.

You might consider looking at Sparco's line of seats.

I run the Evos in my off road cars.

I can sit in them for hours whilst bouncing around; they should be quite comfy for regular every day usage.

Just make sure that you look at one that's wide enough for your bum, as many of the people that get in my desert car complain that they are a bit tight across the hips. Usually after they get wedged in and settled, the complaints go away. It never ceases to amaze me that people don't understand that you want things snug in an off road car. Loose = bruising.

Finding a dealer with seat samples to simply sit in is the problem. I find the bottom seat cushion of the OEM seats to be too grabby, hence one of the reasons I am looking at alternatives.

Those seats while interesting give me a very kart-like vibe

The seats in this video may also be considered.

See them at 9-11 seconds and 14-16 seconds and maybe some more throughout.
