    Gas cap assembly

Waiting for V10 side skirts to come in, and then will also be going in for painting of calipers, (Scuderia Red) painting of badges, and possibly painting of gas cap assembly so that it doesn't stick out so much against the c.f. side blade.

Anyone else paint this on their car?

Peculiar idea, I find the gas cap a nice feature but of course opinions vary.

Nice feature yes, but are you particularly happy with the fact that it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb from the blade?

I've found pics of some cars that have painted them. I may do something a bit more original with mine....

I would love to see some pics of what others have done. I must say the cap on mine is not the greatest feature

I am very happy with the gas cap how it is now and would never have it painted.

    Like I say, opinions vary.

A few have just painted them black, especially if they have the c.f. blade. Here's one I found that is a bit unique.

Nothing wrong with that! I don't mind it much myself, just thought it could be a nice way to add a personal touch to ones liking.

Thumbs up Re: Gas cap assembly

I have second thoughts on wrapping my gas assembly with Cf wrap. I just hope I can do it myself and with no wrinKles. The 3 M material I have seems a bit thick, much thicker than the wrap material most use. But having a cf wrap, and with the weave matching the weave direction of my cf blades, would be killer for me !!!

    Re: Gas cap assembly

We have painted a few of them to match the color of the car. It's a nice touch, but depends on the customer preference.

The MTM one is a nice variation, but we find that detailed paint work like that doesn't weather the real world well...
