Had Ben and Jon add the same H&R springs and HRE wheels to mine. Make sure you run it in to a good alignment shop to bring it back into spec or you will burn through those Pirelli's in no time at all.

Those wheels are looking great. congratulations.
Very nice, I am swaying toward the H&R springs too now. Do you have details of how long they spent just on the spring swap alone? After reading ELSAWIN it seems like quite a long process with specialist tools.
Wow, Looking great indeed with the black / red stripe wheels and lower springs, i do miss my Spyder, am over near your neck of the woods next week or so with the family, 1 week Vero Beach, 1 Week Port Charlotte, 2 days Old Naples and 1 week with a 5' mouse in Disney Wilderness Lodge!
Am hiring the usual Dodge minivan and for 23 days it will be the fastest vehicle in Florida!!

Brian at Auto Quest, a Fort Myers used exotic car dealer who also has done some work on my car, also said I should get it aligned so I asked Ben and he said it's not necessary. I'd hate to throw away $200 unnecessarily but then again would hate to burn through $1800-worth of tires, so who should I believe? Ben, if you're reading this, please weigh-in on the subject.
I can't answer that because I was in San Diego while they worked on her so if Andre or Jon or Ben don't answer the question, send them an email or PM.
Too bad you weren't able to be in SW Florida 2 months ago so you could have gone to Cars on Fifth in Old Naples. We could have met amid 450 awesome cars. Timing is everything! Nonetheless, drop me a line when you're nearby and if I can swing by and meet you, I'd be happy to!

After doing some online research, I decided to err on the side of caution and just get the alignment done, anyway. After all, what's another $200 after all the money I've already spent?

Good call. Dealer put H&R springs on our Audi TT and didn't realign it. I burned through a brand new set of tires in a month. Didn't realize how bad they were until I scared the s__t out of myself on the freeway in a rainstorm. Getting it checked is the wise thing to do.

Thanks! I couldn't agree more. Soon I will post pics of my second set of rims/tires which are my original OEM Y-spoke set that Ben is having powder coated in glossy metallic gunmetal and adding the red pinstripe and I will alternate from time to time so I won't get bored. I just wonder if it'll make any difference to the alignment since they are 19" versus the HRE 20". Does anyone know if the size of wheel will also affect camber and toe-in or is it just the springs and the lowering that will affect alignment? I'd hate to put on the 19" OEMs and have to align again!![]()
