Started chopping, cutting, and rebuilding a new grill today.(for the R8). The PPI grill recently used with joy will be re-sprayed with some clear coat that better be better than the Clear coat PPI used. And will be for sale as well as the plate delete (MINT condition because R84ME used a super thick clear bra on it) which can easily be changed onto the stock front grill. See where the plate delete is attatched by tabs that get melted at factory.Just grind off the melted nubs and separation ! Plenty of tab left for re-attachment. Now comes the HARD part...getting the fit and finish seamless and perfect. \"/

Cool! Anxious to see the finished product. I like the mesh pattern.

I like this mesh pattern too because it closely resembles the mesh pattern on rest of the R8. Having different patterns on the car just didn't cut it for me. I will change the mesh for the PPI grill to this pattern as well, so that it flows on the car much better.

Yes I will sell it, but maybe not until it is freshened up with new clear and mesh. The PPI clear coat did not hold up well to high speed debris. PPI didn't even send me mounting instructions and they suggested using GLUE?? Nevertheless I used tie wraps to hold the WIERD mesh in place. Looks show quality anyways. It is not cracked , just needs re-clearing. Make me a decent offer for it as is, and save me all the hassle of restoring/making it proper.

I'm thinking 1/2 the price new, for as it is condition. New mesh costs 60.00 powder coating of mesh 50.00 and refurbishing/sanding,clearcoating would drive the cost up. But this is what has to be done to be the slickest R8 grill.
