Front license plate removal

This is my second R8 (2011 Spyder 1200 miles) and this one has the front license plate bar across the grill. The first one I had 2009 didn't. I know on the TT's this is a very easy piece to remove and replace with a non-license plate bar. Is it the same on the R8 or do you need to remove the whole grill?

Replace the whole grill. There are a few options, depending on what color you want. You might check with OEMPlus or Europrice...

Yep, I looked it up in my service manual and the front bumper skin and grill both need to be removed. Bummer

Thanks, I will be getting back to you in the near future. I am having a radar detector install and would have liked it before the install, but it is being done this Wednesday so I guess it will have to be installed later.

Also have all of these same grilles with plate deletes as well, though nothing that could be had by this Wed unfortunately.
