    Arrow Over-lay materials. Vinyl,that is.

NOW I know that better results can be had with the low luster C.F. wrapping material. It looks more real. What a great idea to cover the visor stickers. Wrapped my pods and pleased. Have smokeout blue film that looks good over my sidemarkers (on MY car-jet silver/blue)...but the serial numbers will have to be buffed off to be a "proper job" IRO (in our opinion) This IS the body modification section, so... You can 'betcha, plenty of bod mods here. R8essance Faire, 5-15-11, Santa Fe Dam, So. Cal. \"/

wrap? The only wraps I saw were flowing in the wind quite nicely.

Harry - we tried playing with that stuff on rims on a Porsche. - it didn't work, but it wasn't a material issue (long story) - it's not bad looking, but not quite "there" imo. But it's what I did the brake rez cap with. I wonder if you could put a clear coat over it to give it some depth and more mimic the smooth texture that the epoxy leaves?

Have you tried getting it to mold around more intricate curves? I've seen a couple videos of guys using heat guns making it look sweet, but we didn't have good luck. I was thinking it might look interesting over the chrome perimeter of the front grill.

You also have me intrigued with your front grill mods - how's that coming along? How are you planning on hiding the bumper structure?

Thumbs up Re: Over-lay materials. Vinyl, that is.

Will spray everything behind grill area flat black. Mesh is tight so maybe I'll be O.K. I'll probably leave the chrome ring chrome - until I figure out how to remove it without breaking it. But yeah, CF film would be nice, but my 3M stuff is just not good enough for such a visible area. If I had the dry look on all my other CF, it would be a no brainer to wrap that GIANT chrome ring in that. Smoke tinted clear paint would be my choice but with all the chippage I have repaired, and will continue to get ... AARRGHH . So far have done everything without heat. Mahvalous material. Will hit edges of pods with heat. To see if that helps any for an even better job. (when I find my heat gun, don't like using the G.F.s' hairdryer). A primer is advised/available for critical edge adhesion to substructure. You guys like the RED, The Brunett, seems to like me, but I like Blondie !!! Sunday was a wonderfull day.You guys let me know when you're in my area and I will invite the girls to come private dance poolside. NOT that they will all accept!! But I will try. I plan to sell my batchelor pad at end of year. MANY parties to come. \"/

Is that carbon wrap the 3M Scotchguard 1080 vinyl or something else?

I think it's something else. Fleet Graphics on 2mil vinyl. No mention of Scotchguard. When I purchased the material it was maybe a proto-type.(last year). Maybe there is better wet looking C.F. vinyl available now. I paid about 100.00 for 15 sq. Ft. from Signquest.com The ONLY people who could help me back then on 2-15-2010. Their # is 310 838 1677 Culver City. Or 310 477 7446 in L.A. California

You mention wrapping "pods"...... aren't the pods considered the mirror housings?? I don't see those wrapped......

The pods are the part between the door and the housing.

The housing is the piece that contains the glass and actuation components.
