    V10 Grill

On the V10 grill (or perhaps even the V8 grill), if you remove the horizontal plastic bar (i.e., the plate delete bar) covering the bumper bar, is the remaining portions of the grill under there - like the ABT bumper here? I notice that the R8 race car grills are like this as well.

It does look like the plate delete bar is removable by removing the melted tabs in the back. Once, removed, however, I probably wont be able to put it back on again without gluing it on.

Yes you would be able to re-attach without visible mods. Re-melt or glue like you say. There should be plenty of tab material remaining on bar, even after melt/welds are ground off. On a v8 grill , which may be the same...it's ugly under the bar area. I shipped the bar off to DrTNA. He'll try his hand at switching from his plate bar to this plate delete bar. Bumper has to come off , of course.

    Thanks Harrison!

Well, I guess I will give it a shot when I have time. When I see the plate delete bar, it reminds me of someone sticking their lips out!

I see a lot of the race shots that Bodhii posts have just the grill so I am hoping that is underneath. Not so sure now after seeing what is under the V8 plate delete bar.

    Hey Smhb0310,

Cool! Is that yours, and if so do you like the outcome.

I am definitely going to try this then!

    Thanks!

    Re: V10 Grill

Smbh0310- Is that removing a European plate holder or another type of plate holder/delete? It looks like it left some gaps or attachment points visible in the middle, yes/no?

EDIT: Looks like the R8 LMS just uses a grille with the plate holder taken off and some teams paint on tape or just tape up the attachment points:

    Cheers,

    Re: V10 Grill

Some of the cars had plate holders that appeared to be higher than standard EU R8 V10 models, assuming for airflow to the open part of the grille. Seems like that team may have and removed it, look at all the holes/marks from holders.

So who is going to be intrepid and see if the US grille can have this done?

    Re: V10 Grill

Unfortunately I think the US grill will have more holes and marks across the grill since the license plate bar extends all the way across. We will see how it looks.

    Re: V10 Grill

I do think it will take an EU (RoW) grille to start with, remove the plate holder and then cover up the mounting points for a full clean look.

    Cheers,
