Painting front and rear grills

Has anyone thought about, or painted, the front and rear grills (center and side) to look like the GT. I think the black car/Titanium wheel and grill combo looks great. The black GT with this combo is amazing.
This should not be too difficult... Take it apart, paint and re-install. It would obviously have to be a high quality paint job by someone that knows what he's doing.

You can order the GT front grills through Alexander at Europrice.

They are just over a $1000 for the pair without shipping.

For the rear you need to have it matched and painted by a high quality spray shop as the rear grill is a part of the bumper area and cannot be purchased separately.

Belive I will be doing the same for mine as the black GT I saw in Germany was awesome.

My Dealer gets their black gt in 2 weeks..so i am just waiting to have another look to confirm its what I want to do.

Painting those chrome R8 grilles a basic a dark colour should be the VERY first thing to do on any R8.
.... Before any new exhausts, superchargers, CF parts, or even the removal of the dealer sticker from the window!

Gazza... Please post some pics when you see it. I've had a difficult time finding pics of a black GT.

Bodhii, finally, someone who feels the same way about the V10 grille needing to be black! Well, I solved that problem by ordering a 2012 V10, which now comes with a black grille. I'll now for sure when I get the car, but Audi assures me it is.

Moncho, I also feel that bumpers should have more "color", although you want them black to match a black car. I'd want them body colored to have more "color" in the back, as opposed to the black stripe the V10's come with.

On the audiusa.com website, they list officially certified, by them, body shops dealing with Audis, by region/state. Those shops will be able to get you the properly matched paint.

Love the black on the V8 but not on the V10..don't know why and it doesn't make any sense at all.

You have been able to order the Black Pack on the V10 for the past 6 months which includes a black grill.

I've had my Ti colored grill on order for about 6 months now - thus far, not available in the US.

The chrome comes off as soon as I get the new car from the dealership to my shop. May have to have the chrome crap vinyl wrapped like my current car has done.
