V8 front grille options - loosing the chrome!

Other than the oem gloss black is there a more readily available aftermarket alternative out there that anyone can recommend?

I don't want to spray or wrap it as I want it to last.

Waiting on the first R8 V10 Black Optic Grille to ship to this location for a customer. These were just added to the catalog around 2 weeks ago. This comes with no chrome at all.

Is the OEM Optic version just painted itself?

If chipped, I wonder if it would still be silver underneath.

I'm hoping it's solid black plastic.

Also guessing its the whole front grille peice so V8 and V10 are different.

The genuine black optic pieces do not chip up and reveal chrome/silver underneath like painted grilles do.

Yes, the entire grille must be ordered, the trim itself is not purchasable. There is no V8 black optic grille in the catalog as of yet, only V10 with option for EU or US plate holder, no all smooth version yet either.

Also the R8 GT grille has a black trim with a titanium center, another option.

Alexander, is this the one? As it says black dulled mouldings I figure thats what the black optics grille could be referred to as.

Yes, the V8 and V10 grilles are interchangeable 100%.
