Thumbs up Rear Diffuser - PFD Carbonworks

The goal with this thread is to establish and confirm interest in the design and development of a more aggressive carbon fiber rear diffuser for the V10. If this is something you are seriously interested in purchasing, PM your contact info to secure your place in line on the no-cost interest list. We are looking for at least 8-10 community members to move forward to the next phase.

For interested parties to participate in the finalization phase, we've determined we need to confirm purchase commitment with a 25% pre-order deposit (fully refundable in the event we cannot secure at least 8 pre-orders) to help offset a portion of the digital development and production tooling expenses.

Production price: estimated between $3500-5000 depending of complexity of final design.
Development schedule: 6-8 weeks from full commitment.

    Interested:

Pending interest: Please PM to confirm your place in line.

At this point the entire community is welcome to comment on the concepts below. Once we have purchase commitment, finalization will take place behind the scenes with confirmed parties.

    Concept 1

    Design Copyright 2011 PFD Carbonworks
Key features in this concept are the center horizontal blade with two canted fences and the isolation and extension of the outer Venturi that incorporate small airfoils for increased downforce. This concept is a complete replacement for the stock diffuser and would require removal of the bumper for installation.

    Concept 2

    Design Copyright 2011 PFD Carbonworks
Key features of this concept are the extended outer Venturi with two inner vertical fences and the extension of the central element below the grille and lamp. This concept could be an add on component that would not require removal of the rear bumper for installation.

    Concept 3

    Design Copyright 2011 PFD Carbonworks
Key features of this concept are single element upper diffuser blade with six individual vertical fences and the extension of the central element below the grille and lamp. This concept could be an add on component that would not require removal of the rear bumper for installation.

Thanks for your support! Please give me your thoughts and PM if you want to get on the interest list.

Not sure I'd be ordering one (only because I have an oem c.f. diffuser already) but, I love concept #3 most!

Do a GT style spoiler! The diffuser is nice but its way to hidden to spend insane money on a carbon one. Just my 2 cents tho

+1! Like the sound of that. Out of the 3 though, the last one is best.

Number 3 has the best cohesive look --by far IMO

So far the lean is toward #3 which is great input. Thanks.

Also continued interest in a GT like wing. I'll put some time into a concept, I can't do a direct knock off as I have some design morals I need to uphold.

Thanks for the input. Keep it coming.

So what do you guys consider a reasonable price for a rear wing with competition like this?

    Rieger-15/Rear Spoiler V8 & V10/ Carbon Fiber $4599 plus $511 for clear coat.

    PPI/Rear Spoiler V8 & V10/ Carbon Fiber $6805 plus $95 for clear coat.

    Let me know.

the Rieger is for 3800,- on Ebay, and if you buy directly, you will get the part shipped for 3500,-
clear coat is 150,- at the shop I use, so go figure where 510,- for clear coat are coming from

so somewhere in between I would suggest, or lower if you plan on selling more than 5 pieces
