Attached are some pictures of my 2011 V10 suzuka gray R8 with recently installed R8 GT parts -- rear diffuser, front splitter, dive planes -- plus CF mirror shells. The the PFD front chin splitters and spoiler lip are also apparent.
Sincere thanks to:
--Alex at Europrice - who sourced the parts and provided invaluable assistance and support during the install.
--MACarbon - who cheerfully and willingly provided advice to my body shop re the diffuser install, even though it was not their part!
--Kfab's mirror shell install shell tutorial -- which the body shop agreed made the mirror shell install easy.
--European Motorcar Works in Santa Ana. CA who installed the parts and dealt with the customization required.
The front splitter is a direct fit with the R8 bumper and it installed without any difficulty. Of course, the dive planes require that slots be cut in the bumper for the mounting tabs. However, the rear diffuser is not a direct fit and some extensive customization was required. Having never installed an R8 GT diffuser on a V10, the body shop proceeded very carefully and it took a few days. However, having now done mine, they say they would be able install another quite quickly. They also learned that some special fasteners are required and the fasteners that come with the part are insufficient.
Therefore, if you are interested in installing the R8 GT rear diffuser, either purchase the R8 GT bumper as well, or plan on some customization to get it to fit. I heartily recommend European Motorcar Works for the install; or if you are out of the area, consider calling Jennifer at EMW and I expect she can provide valuable guidance.
