you will always see if it is just a wrap or the real thing, but in the end the owner has to like it..and if he can't carve out the money for the real stuff, than the wrap is the closest you can get, better than guys with the liquid paint stuff...just saying...

I wrapped my sideblades with CF vinyl a few months ago (pics included):

Emissary, I have the same color as you and did the same on mine. I used the semi-gloss wrap and it looks identical to yours. It had the oxygen blades before. The install place did a gret job and it was well worth the $250 I paid. I could have "carved" out the money for the real stuff but didn't see the 5k justification for stock CF. It looks good wraped in its own right, and I like the glossy contrast it gives the car with the ice silver. Like you said, unless it is next to another CF blade R8 it is hard to tell. It looks real close to being the real thing, when I tell people it's a wrap they are shocked. Anyway, thanks for posting your pics. I was going to do mine here but it looks exact to yours....

I went to Andrei in Toronto at restyleit.ca and paid $350 installed for the newest 3M 1080 carbon fibre wrap over my silver sideblades. He does a superb job and wraps it cleanly all the way around the inside edges of the sideblade, and cuts it perfectly around the gas cap. With Daytona Pearl the combo is spectacular. The latest stuff has a little more shine to it than the older batch, and in my opinion the final look now resides somewhere between the Carbon Sigma OEM's and the GT matte.

I went to Willies' shop to look at his high gloss black. He thought I was there to see his CF wrap. His Cf is nice but is matte finish with a nice TEXTURE. Not very convincing but has that different look some might be looking for.The last time I used 3Ms' gloss CF wrap it was the best looking available.(2 yrs ago) I'm sure todays' cf wraps are far more convincing. I appalled some of this forums members by my experimentation with the CF wrap. I only used it on my R8 Side skirts and mirror pods.I was very satisfied with

Mine are done in matte finnish I think they work with the look of my car but not sure if gloss would look better on brighter colours.

Looks fantastic. There is currently a GT for sale in the showroom at Ajincourt Audi in Toronto and the look and feel of the 3M wrap is extremely close to the texture and sheen on the OEM GT blades. Eerily so, in fact.
