I remember seeing them in here somewhere but can't find them. I'd prefer the gunmetal or black chrome look and would rather not try to paint my stockers.

Can't explain it very well in english, but there's some paint available. You don't paint the exhaust, just the seperate tips so I should easily works out.
Clean them first, then you need to paint it with a basic "metal-to-paint" primer, the with paint that's used for high temperature e.g. stove/oven.
Some pictures from cars i've seen in an other forum:

SteveR, one of our supporting members has them on sale now at 10% off:

or, I've used this Audi dealership, which has a permanent discount:

So at both, right now, they'll run you about $600.
Is it worth it? Well, if you're willing to remove your tips, I've gotten black powdercoating quotes of $30/each, from a metal shop in Oakland, CA. There must be such places in Michigan, no?

Not sure what the part number is, but this is as pic I snapped at the dealership a couple months ago. It also had what looked like a black optics grill up front

What you're saying doesn't make much sense...
You have a few more reasonable options then buying a "spare" now:
- Buy used pieces on ebay, or from someone who wants to get rid of them and mod them
- Do what you need done to your originals, and *maybe* buy the non-modified version in the distant future, if you'll ever want to. Potentially in the distant future they'd be cheaper, too. Or you'd be able to buy them dirt cheap on ebay later on.
Those pieces are not expensive, but it doesn't make sense to buy a new set now, just to be able to keep it and MAYBE have a use for it in the future
Just saying.
iv got a set of chrome tip V10 that are going on my V8
im painting them matt black first though
