Showroom pics of my 2010 Ibis V8 prior to delivery

I have uploaded a few pictures to my gallery which were provided to me by the dealer from whom I am purchasing my new V8 R8.

The dealer can only let the vehicle go once they receive their replacement R8 from Audi UK which we hope to be in 3-4 weeks.

As soon as they have sorted all the paperwork and registered the vehicle my GF and I will fly over to collect it. I am extremely anxious as you can imagine.

I will update my gallery and this thread with pictures when I collect the vehicle and on the journey home over the next few months.

The cables in pic 3 keep the battery charged as it is a showroom only vehicle and does not get driven.

Colin what's the estimated date of arrival on your spyder?

The speed limit in Guernsey is indeed a lowly 35mph but I intend to take the R8 to Europe and UK quite often. As it happens there are 2-3 R8 V10's locally and the chief of my firm has a Daytona grey V8 R8.

Thanks Rich, I held out as long as I had to in order to get an ibis White r tronic.

Could someone please confirm if there is likely to be an aux-in in the centre console as this vehicle has the cd changer not AMI. If it has aux I'll use my iPod that way otherwise I'll have to use my fm transmitter

I think the ones I saw at my dealer without MMI had AUX in.

We have two CD-Changer cars here. One has AUX and the other doesn't... both are B&O too...

If you are wanting the AMI system, we can provide a full retrofit kit or just the harness to it for you.

Andy, don’t start me on delivery dates!

Ordered this speculatively back in early 2007, got order confirmed last Sept as early spring and no1 slot for North West, then had to spec it up in Nov, went for an exclusive package which now they have told me is the reason I won’t see it till May or early June! which is odd as they also told me that 90%of Spyders are being very highly specified, much higher than the V8 or V10 production, which i think means they are just behind on production for a new model which was the same with the V8, Starting to think I should have gone all standard choice and not tailored spec, oh well,

Good news though, have an invitation to Warrington Audi next Saturday to go and see the Spyder in the flesh, will take pictures and post.

I was born and raised in Guernsey and now hold a position as a Fund of Hedge Funds Accountant with an international firm who provide Fund Administration, banking and Custody services to a wide range of global Corporate and private Clients.

Many years ago tomatoes and the Guernsey cow were Guernseys most popular exports but since the 70s finance has taken over as the islands major growth industry.

As Guernsey is not in the EC, VAT is not applicable and being an offshore jurisdiction it provides many benefits to Clients as we are highly regulated and respected in the international community.

Jenson Button is reputedly looking for a house here to escape the new UK government tax regime because the rate in Guernsey is 20% income tax after allowances. It may be slightly different for ultra high net worth individuals. Certainly far lower than the UK rate which I believe will be 50%?

Another claim to fame, the Krankies used to live in Guernsey. You may remember them as childrens tv entertainers from the 80s/90s.
