    European Car: TT vs. S/C

    Hi All,

We are excited to see European Car releasing our R8 article in the January 2011 issue. Subscribers got their issues last week and it hit newsstands today for everyone else!

Big thanks to desperado and George for providing their vehicles for the photo shoot and we really enjoyed working with the magazine to produce the article. All of the work was done here on the TT car, as well as the cosmetic work for desperado. Audi West Covina did the performance install (S/C, exhaust and clutch) for him, but unfortunately did not get mentioned...

I wish we could have gotten a bit more mention out of it, but at least these two great cars are getting the press they both deserve! Congrats again!

Re: European Car: TT vs. S/C

Just picked it up and found it good. One of the biggest things I have felt is how much more fun car is too drive around town and I see why. Article says at just over 2k rpm car is putting down 250 tq while stock would only be at 110 tq. They also make it clear the numbers are much closer than the dyno results, 536 for Heffner and 439 for Stasis. Heffner set up had exhaust and intake while Stasis car was stock exhaust and intake, ran on 93 octane, Stasis on 91, was done on a DynoJet that they said runs about 10%-15% higher than the Mustang that Stasis ran on. Also Heffner Dyno was done only on rear wheels so less loss. Would be interesting to compare the two on same dyno. Either way you go your car will come alive.

Colin, we are hoping to have a PDF version of the article shortly and I'll post it.

RS4Cab, we have run both cars on the same dyno and the difference is staggering. I provided the information to them, but it appears they chose to use alternate data. Not sure why...

    Rich,
Thanks for setting up the photo shoot. It was a fun afternoon. The magazine guys also took quite a bit of video, so perhaps some of it will end up on their website eventually. Videos

I was very disappointed my Audi dealer didn't get any credit in the article, as they really did a great job on the install and have been a very positive part of the total ownership experience of my R8.

I agree with you on that. We made it pretty clear that Penske did the installation for you and that you were over the moon about their support. I assume you echoed that sentiment in person during the shoot?

The article did seem to have a slight bias stance towards Stasis set up. Do you have the numbers you got in head to head?
