Proper shadow chrome is actually spayed on using a very precise air pressure and pattern with the alloy pre-heated to a specific temperature to ensure an even spread of metallic particles, blend and drying. It has a black base and it takes a specialist with proper oven and spray room to get the desired 'chrome' effect. You cant achieve the same high quality shadow chrome look using powder coating!
