Lightbulb My NSX vs. a friend's R8 ~ sexy lines, whatcha think?

A friend came by the other day and let me drive his v8 R8 (R-tronic) to see what I thought of this tranny...(I'm a hardcore manual guy)

(he also has a few nsx's) but I thought it would be fun to see both these cars and compare the lines hope you guys enjoy!

Amazing really how ahead of its time the NSX was, still a great car, i would imagine values are now on the rise for these?

I'd love to start a vintage car collection with an NSX as my first car. It's eminently collectible, IMO. Even 20-year-old cars go for the mid-30's and late-model cars go for as much as $70K, almost the new cost! With such little depreciation they are definitely a worthwhile investment and in no time I should expect appreciation to kick in. Hard to believe that a two-decades-old design has held up so well!

Thanks for sharing the photos s4play.
    This is my car.
It's amazing how beautiful both cars are in person.
He has done an incredible job modifying the NSX to look like that. When I look at my silver stock NSX, and then look at his white one with the small but meaningful accents, it makes me appreciate how small modifications can transform the car.
I think that the NSX will appreciate (slowly) in value in the next 10 or 20 years. They have maintained their value for some time now.

thanks for the kind words that was a GOOD day for sure driving to SF with ya!

R8Spyderman: If you can find good one-owner low mileage cars with documented history you got a gem! Few cars can claim this type of residual value. Correct me if I'm wrong but only the Ford GT and MKIV Supra can match this type of solid value.

I have one of each too. Mine is a '92, with 140,000 miles on it. Original paint, mostly (not the hood or body kit parts which are newer).

Gotta say though, the R8 has turned my NSX into a garage queen. I drive the NSX only occasionally, especially when it's raining and I don't want to dirty the R8, but overall it just feels dated. Old, underpowered, yesterday's technology, etc. And that's what it is. But the looks of it still do get reactions from bystanders. There's just very little choice about the better car to drive, when there's an R8 sitting next to it in the garage. But it's my old reliable friend that I just can't bear to part with.

Thanks Bodhii. I was wondering, is your online name taken from that flutist musician Bodhii? I have one of his albums, and really like it. Kind of a new wave groove style, with a flute.
