R8 GT at Aud AG Headquarters

We just got back from a trip to Germany, we spent some time at the Audi AG Headquarters in Ingolstadt and saw an R8 GT - We heard it before we saw it!

Since this is German language only, this is probably a good place for it:

I like the orange and the Matt Grey but(without prejudice)I saw 2 Phantom Black GT's in the R8 Factory in Germany.

Meanest toughest road R8'S I have seen that will come out of the factory.

Particularly liked the Titanium Grey contrasts on the front side and rear grill inserts along with the Winglets and rear spoiler.

IMO really did look the business.

I would love to post some pictures but I made a promise not to, due to no photos allowed inside the factory.

This was at the R8GT experience at the Ring last year, car looks great in Matt Suzuka grey but will be very high maintenance in my opinion, I've gone for the Samoa Orange.

I'm just waiting for the day someone takes a GT and sticks a supercharger on her.

However, much more interesting would be a base V10, totally stripped to be a pure racing toy with a supercharger...

hey man, just keep checking out the PPI R8 Razor GTR.
They are SOOO far ahead of Audi in developing the potential of this great R8 platform.

They even found more than 500LBS to remove from the OEM car and still have this kind of performance/luxury/quality.

There should NEVER be such a wide difference between what the hi quality auto manufacturer offers, to what is readily available from respectable, hi quality tuners.

It's tricky, questions of cost, profit margins, ease/time of manufacturing come up. And besides, none of the big auto makers seem to keen on pushing their products that low in weight unless they overcharge properly for doing so.

When Lamborghini obliges us with a really low fat version they charge an arm and a leg for doing so and we praise them for doing something amazing.

Did they replace the electro mechanic mechanism for opening the engine hood with a purely mechanic one?

Also, what on earth did they do to the poor door seal on the top left hand side of the last picture?
