Dealer has just sent me the first pics of my new Audi R8 V10.

Suzuka Grey with carbon side blades, and optional carbon side mirrors. Interior: extended black leather with pale grey stitching.

Looks great, Recently saw my first suzuka grey in person and really liked it. Dealer got in a Spider but found it very odd that they ordered with $8,100 carbon fiber exterior package but cheaped out on not spending $1,400 on c/f mirrors.

Yes, I think the pale grey stitching will look great. I will post more pics when I actually see it myself.

One thing that I noticed a few hours ago, and I haven't slept since, is it appears from the interior shot to have the grey headliner. I specifically ordered the black headliner, and it even says that on the order form. I can't speak to my dealer until Monday. Please, somebody tell me it is just the protective wrapper on the door pillar and the dealer hasn't messed up.

sorry bud, but that looks like a grey headliner - here's a pic (from audi UK used cars) of a car specced with a grey alcantara headliner taken at a similar angle:



The dealer should be able to change this out for you - there are threads on this site about doing the headliner. Here's a good one:

Thanks, I was just looking at that thread. I feel absolutely sick. How on Earth can the dealer get it so wrong? I've got the order form in front of me and it quite clearly says "black headliner". This isn't something I chose lightly and didn't really care either way. I definitely do not want grey headliner.

Thing is, I know they can change it, but it won't be the same. Screws will have been messed with and there's a greater chance of trim becoming "loose" a couple of years down the line.

I'm not going to be able to speak to my dealer until Monday either.

I know it's not ideal - but I wouldn't sweat it. This is the sort of thing the dealer could have done without telling you and you'd be none the wiser. Also, the r8 is a hand built car - there's no guarantee of error-free fitting from there either.
