Found a video I thought some of you race enthusiasts and track guys may be interested in seeing.

Normally I don't care to see accidents and carnage, but after viewing it sure made me realize how adventurous and bold these early drivers were and how fortunate we are that our R8's have all the latest safety features!

Oh-Ya...never did see an air bag deploy on any of these cars!

air bags! not one of those guys was even wearing a seatbelt, and there were a lot of leather helmets!

I am old enough (the 300 SLR and D-Jag accelerating out of the LeMans start were the "hero" cars of my teens!), that I can actually recall an older SCCA racer friend of my parents (TR3) who told me he was not at all happy with being required to wear a seatbelt when racing, as he definitely preferred to have a chance to be "THROWN CLEAR" in the event of a rollover!!
