My new GT showed up last night, and I'm stoked to say the least. Initial impressions are crazy. Having gone from a 2011 Spyder to a 2012 GT is just a very different feel. The GT is faster without question, and its shift patterns are also different. (There's a minor hesitation when downshifting that the Spyder didn't have, but it appears to be dynamic because under hard acceleration and blipping a downshift it seems near instant... so it's something new to get used to).
The overall feel of the car is very different. It's a lot more firm, and it's super agile. The car feels a lot lighter from the steering perspective and when throwing it into a turn, the lower profile and racing suspension definitely stands out.
There are a lot of subtle differences too that I wasn't aware of until after I took delivery .. like there's no garage door opener buttons, no cigarette lighter in the center console (I don't smoke, but sometimes you need to charge your phone), no flip up compartment in the back, and the deck lid behind the seats is now a mesh net for you to drop stuff in.
The matte carbon fiber everywhere is gorgeous, and the subtle LED lighting in the engine bay has an awesome "cool" factor when approaching the vehicle at night.
Overall, I'm ecstatic that I made the purchase, and was really hesitant about spending the extra money for the GT. Now that I've got it, and have driven it .. I can't say I regret it one bit, it's a genuinely unique and awesome machine.
