Monkey boy UK 12-06-2009, 03:25 AM Here it is, my specification confirmed and price confirmed, i think the Spyder in the UK represents good value, lots of standard specification over and above the V10 so didnt need to spend too much more
In Europe the standard price of the Spyder is 156,400 Euros, at the moment its 1 .11 euro to £1, that would mean that the same basic car in Germany would be over £140k, nearly £30k more??!!
Order spec & price as follows;
1097
gazza1 12-06-2009, 03:35 AM Nice to see a V10 ordered with a manual behind it...outside the usual.
Really would like to see a spyder in the flesh..could be the one next year.
One option I would have loved would have been a see through window for the V10 engine....just like the Gallardo
London Lad 12-06-2009, 07:08 AM Congrats on your order!
I have friends in Europe who have ordered cars recently and have also commented that as their income is earned in GBP it makes buying in Europe seem very expensive at the moment.
dailydriver 12-06-2009, 07:58 AM Congrats - it should be beautiful. Did they provide an ETA for delivery?
ianerrid 12-06-2009, 08:07 AM Looks an excellent spec, can't wait for the pictures!! FWIW I have just cancelled my order and off to join the dark side...

Dailey Driver, yes, end of March 2010, had a speculative deposit down for over 2.5 years! hope to take this on the Euro trip with some of the forum next spring / summer..

Good call Ian, beautiful car, and other than the California ( a girls car in my opinion ) the first Ferrari you can use daily if you so wish, personaly i will be having a 599 ( used ) after the Spyder and getting the new RS4 for everyday.
ianerrid 12-06-2009, 11:17 AM I looked at the California but in the flesh the proportions look all wrong IMHO I am a big lad but it made my missus fall about laughing as I look so small in it..
London Lad 12-06-2009, 11:35 AM I had a deposit down on a California for a good while but it didn't do it for me when I saw it in the flesh so I cancelled. It did drive well though.
AnOutsider 12-06-2009, 12:17 PM Mr Monk, I think you may be the first here to get a Spyder. Any ETA? You KNOW pictures are needed.

Dont you worry, i will be down with my camera as soon as it arrives at the dealership, ETA late March, in first production batch for UK, i was worried the exclusive leather would hold it up but Audi advise me nearly all customers are having them specked highly individually & as they are hand built it should not delay, we will see though, forum members coming on the Euro trip will see it in the flesh.

Morning, here is he thread for Alpine road trip 2010

Hopefully a dozen or more R8's making history with epic driving, great hotels & good company, all with Audis sponsorship for the Audi channel if they buy into it! MikeB is onto it but any pull at Audi welcomed!

Agreed, the DSG in the California is excellent, I hear they have made the 458 Italia version a little more 'mechanical' in feel through software which sounds like a good thing...
AnOutsider 12-07-2009, 05:37 AM Ah, in the UK. Don't think I can fly my car there ;)

We are enquiring with Audi for rental rates. Discounted hopefully. Where are you based?
