    Red or painted engine/valve cover?

I'm thinking about giving my V10 engine bay a little more pop and ran across this picture on the web of a V8 with a red painted engine/valve cover. I'd love to look at a wrinkle red finish like on Ferrari's and wanted to know if anyone has done similar, has pictures to share and can talk about the process or parts.

Looks nice but if they had to take the intake manifold off and do it I would imagine there would be a bit of cost involved.

I would probably invest that towards a red supercharger. Then again maybe it would only be a grand or two.

Agreed, that's a considerable amount of effort to get it off, that's for sure.

Makes sense if you're already in there for other stuff. Looks good.

Its a few hours to remove and a few more to reinstall. I recommend buying new audi emblem plates for the tops of the manifold if you want to do a clean job and not see a seam around the edge.

New manifold for sale on ebay, you could buy it and get it painted and swop it out, would save time.
