    Getting gene 2 R8 as a daily

I recently moved from Vancouver to Waterloo, Ontario Canada. Thinking of getting an all wheel drive sports car as my daily. I would keep this car for at least five years and I think r8 is a great choice because apparently the car is super reliable( WO any problems even at 100k miles), is that true?

Would you rather daily a plus or a non plus. (money is not a problem its only a 10k difference in price)

For those who live up north, what do you do to protect your cars from salty snowy roads? What is the best undercarriage protecting product available?

Looking to purchase the car between thanksgiving and Christmas, because once the snow falls, the price of sports car drops )))

I live in Waterloo as well and could safely say you could almost daily drive the R8 all year with the recent mild winters we’ve had. Although you’d have to get winter tires (5k).

PM me and we could even meet up.

Definitely go for the plus, there's been many discussion about it before on here too. It should be just as reliable as any other German car, though of course you can get unlucky.

I drive mine day in day out in the Nordic countries, in temperatures down to -20c or -4F. So far I had my engine replaced under warranty at around 12 000 miles due to a catastrophic failure out of the blue (just very bad luck) and both rear taillights had cracks in them (this is apparently super common). All fixed under warranty though and the local Audi service has been nothing short of outstanding!

    Hey,

I live in Vancouver and purchased a 2018 v10 + about 4 months ago and daily it about 60% of the time. It is great as a daily, and more practical than i thought it would be.

The seating position has an immense amount of adjustability, it’s insulated well from road noise and it’s a blast.

I have applied a clear bra to the front clip and mirrors, full paint correction and ceramic pro. It has held up well.

I have over 10,000 km on the car already, iirc I grabbed it in March or April of this year. Have driven to Northern Cali for a race event, Seattle countless times and Kelowna a few times. My wife enjoys driving it as well in small bursts.

    I say go for it.
