I noticed the listing this morning at Momentum BMW. CarFax showed only 2 owners and clean history, although no service records.
It seems to be priced way below market and when I checked this evening, it was already sold. Strange that it would be listed so low - anyone know the history of this vehicle? VIN: WUAANAFG0EN000951
Sure, the mileage is higher, but some people daily drive this car. Isn't the general opinion that these cars can be driven like a normal sedan well over 100K+ miles?
I've never seen a 4~5 year old R8 without damage history listed that low...
i would get a car with 90k miles over a salvage title anyday, 55k is way underpriced it's like salvage title territory. Unless the drivetrain is already blown up then it's not a very good deal at all lol (30k for transmission, 50k for engine)
I saw this when it was first listed as I'm in the market. The 90k an no service history turned me off. too much uncertainty even at $55k for me. Unlikely you'll be able to get a warranty on it.
sorry to say but that was dumb, if its driving and ok it worth much more. Would buy this car unseen, just hear over the phone that engine is running whould be enough to justify to spend 55K on a 2014.
and you can repair a lot for 35-45K as 2014 sell for around 90-100k in US
You all are too hung up on miles lol, would rather have a car like the guy at my dealership that was a 2012 with 1700 miles with engine issues and mice infestation from sitting, than a car that is a proven working car lol
Even at the updated price of $64k it looks good for a 2014 V10! I paid more for my 2009 V8. If it doesn't have any damage history and I hadn't bought mine yet I would go for it...
Same 55k I'd have just bought it no questions cause you could drive it to 150k and still get 45k+ lmao even now you'd lose less driving it to 150k miles than buying a low milage 2010-14 and putting 10-20k miles on it lol.
it's a pretty big gamble though. 50k engine and 30k transmission if it blows. No audi or fidelity would warranty a 90k car since it's already outside of factory warranty mileage. If that happens you end up with a 90k mile car for 90-100k....
engines and transmissions can be rebuilt- R8's get wrecked with undamaged, like new drive trains
not saying that its alright to blow a motor but I don't think anyone would actually spend $80,000 to replace the drivetrain on a high miles, low value car
additionally, lets not forget the 1000's of other components that are considerably less expensive but prone to wear i.e. that's a lot of miles that someone sat in a seat/got in and out/touched switch gear/absorbed bumps/exposed to weather....
The car could have just been daily driven by the 2nd owner (2 owner car btw). 20k miles per year is not abnormal for a daily. I would just have a mechanic check it out before buying.
The photos did not show wear and tear in terms of aesthetics. If the mechanics checked out, I think the buyer got a smoking deal.
Nice! I figured the new owner might show up in this forum . Did you find out the service history? I found it odd there didn't seem to be any on a relatively newer car. Let us know how she drives...congrats!
Glad it worked out. The warranty makes it a no brainier.
