    Ceramic Brakes in Vag-com

I have just had the car converted from the standard brakes over to the Ceramics. I got the parts from Ales at LD-OEM on here. Shipped quickly and exactly as specified. I also spoke with some members here before pulling the trigger, so a big thank you to them, including MNGOLFER, KFABR8 and JBUSA95TE. I really appreciate everyone that spoke to me and took the time to answer some questions and lend some advice. It's what makes this forum what it is and I am grateful for the free flow of information and sharing of experiences.

Now to my issue. The shop working on the car is in the final stages and told me that there is coding for the ceramics that needs to be done. They are having issues with this step, so I am asking if anyone can provide some help and/or advice on what needs to be done. If it is something that needs an explanation, please PM me and I will call you if necessary. Thanking you in advance.

Even without coding, ceramics are astounding.

I’ve done carbon ceramic brake conversions without any abs reprogramming and it was still great. I did reprogram it on one car and only change I saw was that the brakes will auto apply in the rain every so often to clean water off the rotors. Again, not needed, nothing to stress, the car will be great.

Btw you just saved a lot of rotating weight, congrats.

The stock steel brakes worked pretty well, but just didn't hold up on the track. I'm looking forward to see the difference the ceramics make. It was an expensive upgrade, but I was looking into so many other options, it just didn't seem that there was much comparable that could serve double duty, street and periodic track usage. My shop just informed me that they have it working now. It's an hour ride home, so I will definitely test my new brake setup.

You'll need to learn how to brake all over again! very entertaining if you have a passenger LoL.

I've been told that from one of the other members. I'll try to keep my face off the windshield.
