Coolant tank leaking, known issue ???

    Hi,

So I called audi to order a replacement coolant tank today and they said it may be due to a fan having stopped working and that I should bring it in to check it as it was a known issue on r8s.

Anyone heard this before, I cant imagine a fan not working not flagging up some sort of warning message?

I had exactly the same problem last week.
I removed the engine cover and the tank myself, the leak came from the joint between the upper and lower part of the tank, yet there has never been overheating ..
My dealer did not know the problem, so I bought a tank on ebay and I changed myself (1-hour)
    No more worries
