Personally I always have the valves open, I’m using a Kline Inconel and it’s the perfect amount of loudness, tone, etc. I’d probably use the valves if I had a Quicksilver exhaust though, that sucker is LOUD. Kline does get very loud and high pitched when you give it all the power, but at lower speeds it’s manageable. I will say people turn their heads even with casual driving now that the valves are open. Before the car was pretty stealth since the valves were always forced closed around city speeds so that may or may not be a con, hard to not hear it now especially since at 4000RPM the inconel x pipe creates a very unique pitch that you don’t really hear on other R8s or Huracans. The pitch is really piercing versus raw loud.
I had a Kline SS on my 2018. Very happy with it. I had a valve controller so I could manually lock the valves open. I drove with valves open 100% of the time.
On my 22 I went QuickSilver. LOUD. Too loud, honestly. The Kline had nice harmonics, QS is just LOUD.
Either way, a valve controller on the 22 is a MUST. Driving an R8 that is whisper quiet is boring.
I made a video of the stock sport exhaust with the valve button open. You hear it stays shut under 5k RPM - quiet - loud - quiet.
The QS valves closed does sound good. But open is only for open area hooligan driving. Where the Kline was never too loud in the cabin with valves open.
I am adding a CETE as well.
I'm considering a Kline Inconel, but I wonder if its worth the extra $$$ over the stainless - does it sound that much better?
