Best numbers so far, just about at Audi's factory numbers for 0-100 and 0-125.

This is better news, here is to positive thinking that we will see even better times

Sticky,
No link so far. Article is in latest C&D issue(digital edition). Maybe BSR has printed version?

not for this test.

They drove a manual, but the numbers are from an RTronic car.

They say in the article that these numbers could be replicated by a manual car, with good shifting skills.

C&D seems able to flog their test cars to about the best numbers they're capable of. They recently got a BMW 335i to 60 in 4.9 sec and a 996TTS tip Cab in 3.8 sec. I remember years ago they somehow recorded a 3.9 sec 0-60 in a Buick Regal GN!
Excellent numbers for the R8, and about right where I thought they should be! (didn't beat the Buick, though:))

A 335i in 4.9 a turbo S tip in 3.8 sounds right on. A buick grand national is a very fast car, I never heard of a 0-60 of 3.9 for it.

For a R8 with a fairly new engine the times are nice! Can't wait!

The figures are nice ... but they are just figures ... sure it's nice to have a car faster than the perceived competition ... but as long as it makes me smile when I drive it ... I'll be happy ... although I will admit I'll be happier (not to mention rather smug) if my car is quicker than the perceived competition.
