Not seen this done before and I always find it interesting to hear about the cars that led up to what you have now. Ill get the ball rolling...

17, just passed and I got a 1.4 Corsa(old shape) which I chaved up with huge sounds, wheels etc

18 I got my first new car, a Civic Type-R and I would still say this is the most fun I have ever had in a car. All cars should have a V-Tech! Although 200hp through front wheels in the rain...not so good! :D

For my 21st I bought myself a new Z4 M Convertible which I still have. Great car and I have embarassed many many people in 'exotica' who think they can drive!

And now Im on the long wait for the V10 R8!!

First car at 17 was an Acura RSX-S. Learned to drive a stick on it, got it in 02 with 4500 miles on it. Still have it today with about 45K on it. It's the beater. Pretty much the exact same car as your Civic.

Second car was the R8. I'm 22 now, got it around the end of April. 3500 miles on it now.

Third car will be the R8 V10.

a whole heap of cheapies early on including golf, polo, micra, cherry, bluebird, mg maestro, audi 100, shoguns then started making a bit of money so could entertain halfway decent cars:

merc slk 230
bmw 540 (e39) - great car, very underrated
merc clk 430 convertible (wife chose it but drove it for about 2 weeks before deciding it wasn't for her and I ended up with it - was that godawful metalic purple colour too)
bmw x5 4.4
bmw m3 (e46) smg
bmw m6 (e63)

still have:
audi a4 3.0 tdi quattro saloon
r8
and an old freelander for lugging and snow

Well I will also exclude the early clunkers except for a renault alliance convertible which I had in law school and which had a faulty clutch. I had no money to repair it so I had to shift without the clutch by matching rpms and at lights I would have to turn it off and start in first gear - a launch start!

Others included:

1997 Audi A4 Quattro
1999 BMW M3
2000 911 Targa
2001 BMW M5
2003 BMW x5 4.6
2006 BMW 530ixT
2007 BMW M5
2009 R8 on order expected August 2008

86 camry; learnt stick on it, had a ton of fun, beat the hell out of it. Perfect highschool car.

Then no car for about 2 years as I waited out for the 350z.

04 350z. Hoping this car will carry me for the long haul through the rest of university and beyond as I don't plan on buying anything else until I pick up a used V8 coupe down road. I'm determined to wait this one out the same way I did with the 350z....except possibly 2-3times longer :p.

My first car was an egg carton being pulled by strings at age 3. I guess I loved cars since then. 14 years later it was:

1981 Volvo 240 DL (hand me down). My favorite car in the world because of the memories.
1987 Jeep Wrangler. 3 years of mud, action, and adventure.
1986 Corvette
1985 Corvette
1989 Corvette
1981 MBZ 300SD (black smoke from exhaust was visible for miles)
1984 Chevy Blazer
1970 Corvette (stock)
1971 Corvette (454 with NOS, blew the pistons out).
1970 Corvette (LT1)
1971 Corvette convertible (rattling noise championship)
1968 Pontiac Firebird
1969 Camaro Z (replica – Orange white stripes)
1969 Camaro Z (replica – Blue white stripes)
1955 Chevy 210
1970 Chevy El Camino
1989 BMW 740
1991 BMW 318i (most abused car, kept on going)
1996 Special Construction Harley (home built)
1993 MBZ 300CE (bad memories)
1991 Nissan Pathfinder (hand me down rental because I went broke again).
1998 Lexus 300GS
2001 Porsche Carrera (couple days after 9/11)
2003 Hummer H2
2003 MBZ CL55
2002 Ferrari F360 Modena
2004 Special Construction Harley (home built)
2004 Dodge Hemi to haul Harley (bike stolen from home, on my way from Dodge dealer, with new truck)
2004 Land Rover Range Rover
2005 MBZ SL55
2004 Special Construction Harley (crashed this time)
2005 Hummer H2 (as if the first time I didn’t learn my lesson)
2005 MBZ CLS55
2007 Chevy Tahoe
2007 Aston Martin Vantage
2007 Chevy Tahoe (yup, again)
2008 R8 - I’m officially tired of cars.

^ Wow. Just curious, and I'm sure you get this sort of question everytime the subject of your previous car history is brought up, but what's been your favorite? Apart from the nice vettes, BMW's/Benzes, you must have had quite the experience the last few years with the Vantage, F360 and now R8...

Nothing has been as amazing as this R8. After really thinking about it, I guess the first and the last are my favorites.

Obviously a 1981 Volvo 240 DL can't be compared to an '08 Audi R8.

But at the end of the day, I think we all share the same common feelings. It's not the car, not the performance, not the torque, and not the handling. It's the feeling we get when driving. As a kid, it's the first car, feeling of freedom, independence, a sense of grandiose passion for life.

It's all about the feelings we go after.

1987 Honda Accord - Used
