More 18 year old boys entering puberty, I'm sorry if my comment about ugly wheels offended you, I didn't realise you were the President of the ugly wheels appreciation society, your avatur suggests you're a senior member, try to behave like one and restrict your comments to the point of disagreement e.g. your gold wheels look tacky. There is no need to turn things into a personal attack.

Private car has lower mileage by around 15k. I wouldn’t drive 15k in 3 years. So in terms of resale value, Especially as your buying it from a private seller, the cost is less - and of the two, I reckon you’d lose (if any) less on the private car.

Obviously buying from a dealer you get a lot more assurances hence the dealer price.

The dealers vehicle seems to have additional factory options.
The private has the bucket seats, where as the one from the dealer has reverse camera and carbon interior trims. (Main spec differences I noticed)

Carbon interior trim is likely to be more costly and harder to obtain than the buckets (which cost around £2k). However, in my opinion I’d prefer the buckets seats over the carbon trim and reverse camera. The white/grey leathers do look good though, looks very refined and clean inside.

If they aren’t too far, I’d say go see both. You’d definitely get a better vibe if you see both and then decide.

Personally, i’d go for the private one! I’d probably get a pre purchase inspection done as well as sort third party warranty.

But having said that, the dealers vehicle also looks a good choice.

you are the one that shot your mouth off about the other wheels being ugly. I live in the 3rd largest city in america and have never seen gold wheels because they are hideous. If you dont want criticism then dont start up

Cool it buddy! We're all here to share our opinions so don't make it personal.

My wheels are the same ones he called ugly and I didn't take it personally. You shouldn't either.

Now if he had said RED was ugly, I'd be all over him. :p

Feel free to criticise my wheels all day and every day, but as I said don't turn it into a personal attack by inferring I'm an 18 year old entering puberty and also not a gentlemen, neither could be further from the truth.

Carpediem, sorry your thread has been hijacked, enjoy your decision making progress, because the outcome will be that you become an R8 owner.

My money would go on the private one. Less money and less miles and being a private sale, more opportunity to haggle as most buyers have a p/x and/or require finance.

I’m from Boston and I see gold/bronze wheels all the time. A very well known 458 happens to run a crazy cool looking gold setup. Also straight piped and insanely loud!

Agreed!
I really like gold wheels, so long as they compliment/contrast the color of the car.
For instance, I don't care for them on white or lighter colored cars.
My preference comes from 2 sources, Lotus 72 John Player Special F1 car and the Subaru Imprenza World Rally cars. Lotus 72 JPS colours..jpg McRae-s-1997-Subaru-Impreza-WRC-cover.jpg

Have you made a decision, OP?

I see that the black, manual (private sale) has been removed from AT - are you the lucky owner?
Missed out on the private one - seller was a lovely guy, but I got offered a better deal elsewhere and it sold in the meantime (NOT talking about the one at m power cars, but a completely different one)...

...or at least I thought I thought it was a better one...

...transpires that the one I was about to go for, a non Audi specialist has been servicing it...in fact it isn’t even a garage, but more of an auto electrics shop with not so great rep on google reviews...also no dates on the service book to accompany each stamp...
