The new R8 is here, and we have the perfect exhaust for it: our Valvetronic X-Pipe Exhaust System. Available now to unleash extra aggression in the form of an exhilarating sound and increased power.





SOUND: Fabspeed's unique valve design provides two very distinct sound modes. With valves closed, exhaust gases channel through Fabspeed's signature 63.5mm quad-resonated x-pipe, producing a smooth and sophisticated exhaust note ideal for cruising around town and on long stretches of highway. With valves open, prepare to have your world rocked. The exhaust gases are free to rocket straight out through the 70mm bypass pipes with a snarling aggressive scream.


At this time we only have video of the car on the dyno. Extremely poor weather conditions prevented us from getting road footage of the development car. We've attached a video of our Huracan system as it is very close in construction and sound, and we are working to find an opportunity to produce an additional high quality video.


POWER: Our system adds 53whp and 47ft/lbs of torque at 5850 RPM and peak power gains of 14whp and 13 ft-lbs of torque.When paired with our ECU Tune, we put down 503 whp and 411 ft-lbs of torque!



WEIGHT: Our Valvetronic X-Pipe System removes a total of 30lbs from the rear of the R8 to improve handling and acceleration.

CONSTRUCTION: Each exhaust is precision machined using our state-of-the art Unison mandrel bender, Haas CNC machines, and hand TIG-welded by our passionate and experienced fabricators. Our 14-16ga T304L stainless steel systems are second-to-none and come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Each system is built in house at our facility in Pennsylvania. Thank you! It definitely is a shame, but at least you'll have the awesome sound to cheer you up. :)

i have akrapovic on another ride and custom exhaust on others... sounds wicked IMHO.

but the most satisfying exhaust note for me at the moment is the fabspeed on my R8. Worth the money paid... sounded damm aggressive.

I'm proud to say that we've updated our exhaust!

We utilize the best valves in the business: Helical’s extensive experience in high-volume OEM automotive applications has led to standard features such as an extremely durable pneumatic actuator, precision flat sealing faces inside the valve, stiffening ribs and high-temperature bearings at both ends of the butterfly spindle. Helical valves are so well known for their durability that they are utilized on the factory system for the 991 GT3 RS among other applications.



We've also redesigned the mounting points. Our bottom brackets now incorporate a point of adjustment for best possible fitment and tolerances between vehicles and transmissions.



Two additional hangers have been added up on the top of the system to take advantage of the factory mounting brackets. To be clear, these changes are not in response to fitment issues or mounting points breaking - we saw an opportunity to over-engineer and raise the quality of this system for our customers!



We're dedicated to excellence and we're proud to offer a new and improved Valvetronic X-Pipe Exhaust System. These upgrades have also been applied to our other R8 valvetronic systems.

I have a 2017 v10+ and have a couple of questions. Sorry if some of these are stupid ... newbie ...

1. What in the exhaust makes the "pop" noise when downshifting or letting off the throttle? My brother's GT3 with M&M exhaust doesn't do that (but does sound awesome).
2. Will installation of your after market exhaust cause the check engine light to turn on?
3. When you talk about the valves, are you saying that pushing the exhaust button on the steering wheel will open/change the pipe from the louder pipe to the not-quite-as-loud pipe? If you were going to guess at a percentage of sound difference from the stock to your system, what increase would you guess in open/close in yours vs. stock? Videos just don't really help.
4. Do you have to do the ECU tune or is that optional as it relates to exhaust sound?

I'd be happy to assist, no question is a stupid question :)!!

1) The pops and gurgles are the after effect of unburnt fuel traveling through the exhaust and exploding in the exhaust.

2) A common cause of CEL's in exhaust system is removing the catalytic converts but unlike the early Gallardo V10's the cats on the R8's are part of the header and not often removed or replaced. Since we offer a cat back system you will not have any CEL's to worry about.

3) The valves can either be controlled by the current system in your car bases on a button on RPM, essentially it will function exactly like your car does now. A second option to that would be installing a vacuum valve controller that will come with a key fob to lock the valves open or closed.

4) We do have an option ECU available that is good for a +46 hp and +41 ft/lb gain with a stock exhaust system and even more with our system installed.

We offer a Performance Package that I would highly recommend when considering both the exhaust and the ECU tune.
