After months of waiting I finally found a 2022 R8 Spyder RWD in Suzuka Gray and purchased it.
First impressions:
The car looks gorgeous in person, very exotic.
I took it to curvy mountain roads and wow this car handles the curves with such confidence and pleasure. I always heard reviews that complain steering lacks feedback. I’d say nonesense to that. I’m coming from a Porsche and can definitely say the R8 steering has plenty of feedback.
Above 5K RPM it pops and bangs fabulously. All it needs is a valve controller to keep the valves open all the time. The stock exhaust imho is good enough, specially with the top down.
The only minor thing with car is that I was surprised the suspession is so firm. Hopefully I’ll get used to it.

Did they change the 22 from the 21?

My steering is ok but the suspension is wayyyyyy too soft. Lots of brake dive and body roll in corners. It can be annoying on race tracks.

Beautiful car - congrats!

Do you have a RWD? I haven’t driven a 21 model before but I can say for sure that the 22 RWD is firmer than a 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder with PASM, and that’s a GT car.

Yessssir.

Do you have magride or are they still fixed suspensions like 2021?

They are fixed still but the description says something along the lines of “fixed suspension tuned for sport”.
It’s entirely possible you and I have different capacity to tolerate a “firm” suspension :)

As long as we have the same capacity to appreciate a legendary car like the R8. (y)

Enjoy the beautiful ride.

Looks great, enjoy it in good health. Having never been a fan of vert personally and getting my Spyder, now I feel like I will always want my fun car to be a Spyder version. haha. Just to hear the exhaust openly if nothing else. Haha.

I have been visiting family in North Carolina and haven’t been able to look at or drive my R8

WAAAAAHH!!!

(None of my family owns sports or supercars so they just don’t understand)

Did you opt for the carbon sway bar I decided to pass, I’m too afraid of that thing cracking haha
