Gen2 Facelift - Neutral Rev Limit?

I've been trying to follow the videos that have been uploaded to YouTube by content creators that Audi invited out to track events for the upcoming R8 refresh, and so far the update is looking great. The one thing that is confusing me so far is that when the car is in neutral, it seems that it won't rev out like we're used to with the prior models. I'll link a couple YouTube videos below at the exact time it shows what I'm talking about:

This one is in German, so make sure to toggle on English subtitles:

And another one where they start the car, and it does the same two little rev things:

Anyone on the board have any idea what's up with that? Perhaps the north American models won't have that odd rev limiter enabled (or it could be disabled in VCDS).

On Gen 2 cars, there's a rev limiter in place at 6000 rpm when the engine is cold. Once the engine is up to an acceptable operating temperature, the red line goes back to 8700 rpms.

I wonder if that has anything to do with it. The stationary engine rev sounds so... lethargic. It doesn’t sound like it’s even going to that high in the rev band that it would hit the 6K cold start limited. I find it odd that it makes such “bouncy” little rev noise at idle. I’m hoping to see more videos of these facelift models as North American orders come through, and hopefully it isn’t so restrictive.

They definitely did something. If I put my 2021 into neutral then the red line comes all the way down to 4K.
